Snake River
White Water Class: II-III (at high water up to IV)Overview:
The Snake River is a popular whitewater river in the Yukon. This trip is rich in wildlife, spectacular scenery and excellent hiking opportunities. The Snake River is very remote and is accessible only by floatplane. This in turn means you will see very few other canoeists and undisturbed nature. As with the Pelly River, paddling the Snake River in June must be done with great caution due to its high water. If you paddle at this time, all whitewater sections are classified up one class and should be paddled only by experienced whitewater canoeists.
Following trips are possible:
Duo Lakes to Taku Bar (300 km, 14 days)
Category 2: 600.00
(Floatplane from Mayo to Duo Lakes 245 km, Taku Bar to Mayo 315 km)
