Pelly River
White Water Class: I-II (at high water up to III)Overview:
The Pelly River begins in the Selwyn Mountains. This area is known for its hot summers and bitterly cold winters. With some luck you have a good chance to see black bears searching for food on the southern slopes of the mountain ranges. The river flows by the "Titina trench" where in the spring and late summer you can often see migratory birds.
In June, the Pelly has high water. All whitewater sections are classified up a class during June and should be paddled only by experienced canoeists.
